The MFMC module is a general purpose FMC carrier module dedicated for MTCA.4 systems. The module is designed for high performance data acquisition and data processing applications.

    Demonstration project for the MFMC carrier module for Vivado 2018.2 including:

    • PCIe x4, gen. 2 endpoint
    • Registers block avilable via PCIe with R/W access
    • DDR3 controller with R/W access via PCIe (not DMA transfers)
    • Pre-compiled binary file for Artix 7 FPGA (bit/mcs)
    • Reference clock configuration according to agreed specification
    • Python script for reading reagisters and DDR3 using /sys/bus/pci nodes.

MicroTCA. 4 PCI Express 4x to external CPU

The PCI Express optical link is composed of AI-9194 host card, MPCIE4-T2 target card, NAT-MCH-PHYS80 Module Carrier Hub and 4 fiber optical cables.

  • Provides a PCIe link between MicroTCA.4 chassis and external CPU
    • PCIe gen. 2, 4 lanes (4x 4 Gbps = 16 Gbps net)
    • PCIe clock separation between root complex (CPU) and target (MicroTCA)
  • PCIe link length: max. 300 m optical fibre
  • Fibre type: multimode fibre (850 nm) with LC terminals
